My 180-Mile Mangos
I guess you might say I have gone the extra mile(s) for my clients. In my many hours of training at Keller Williams, I was taught how important it was to stay in contact with your clients, which leads me to my 180-mile mango trip.
I had seen an article in the St. Pete Times about a Tropical Fruit Farm, and I thought about a past client of mine that loves tropical fruit, Mangos, Papayas, Guavas, etc., so I called her and asked if she would like to take a trip to this farm. She was all excited to go, as she does not drive. So off we went to buy her some fruit and to buy a fruit tree for her yard. Well I never realized how far away this farm was, it was down by Naples (did I mention the 180 miles?? ONE WAY!!). Which wasn’t really so bad, but when we arrived, the farm was closed. Apparently the article in the St. Pete Times brought several people to the farm, and they had sold out of all their fruit the weekend before. Well I was determined to find my client some mangos, so we went into a little shop in the town and asked where else we might find them. She told us about a farm that was well off the beaten track. We had to travel down some dirt roads with several potholes, but we did get to this other farm and bought my client her mangos, and a baby mango tree. She was very happy but exhausted, so she slept all the way home.
The story continued a week later at a wine and cheese party of Tammie’s where one of the mangos from my trip sat on the windowsill with the writing "Gayle’s 180 Mile Mango". It certainly was a good conversation piece for the party and the reason I’m writing this article about staying in touch with clients!
By the way
.my client called me just the other day with some friends that are interested in buying some property. I’m meeting them this weekend
.it seems my mango trip WAS a Success after all!
